FORGETMENOT

OUR STORY

ForgetMeNot's founder, Katie Nyarko, came up with the groundbreaking idea at a hackathon in March 2016. Afer winning prizes for it, she continued to develop the idea with success. In August she teamed up with Parag Pandya, a hardware developer and market researcher passionate about Android. The team has grown ever since.

OUR VISION

We want to make life easier for the forgetful and the victims of diseases like Alzheimer's to remember. We see a future where everyone affected by these diseases and those who are simply very forgetful can feel confident in remembering everything they need.

TECHNOLOGY

ForgetMeNot is an Android app, but will soon be seen on both the App Store and Google Play. Programmed using Android Studios, ForgetMeNot is heading towards becoming wearable technology or a sensory device activated by the front door.

HOW IT

WORKS

ForgetMeNot uses text-to-speech to read out a reminder that you can set within the app.

Simply select for the alarm to function either with GPS, Bluetooth, or time.

Save your memo and wait until you go out the next morning. ForgetMeNot will activate and read out your memo. No going to basketball today? Call out 'stop' and the app will detect your voice and stop the memo.

If you have dementia or Alzheimer's, this will be particularly helpful, because memory loss is a major part of both cases. Leila's mum has dementia, but doesn't know how to use a smartphone.
Leila can't come and help her, because they live very far away from each other. However, she can contact her through their shared account in the app to make a memo for her, or send reminders, such as 'Be ready by 7:30. I'm coming to pick you up for Karen's birthday.'
